Ken Mayer — Commercial Photographer
With over 30 years experience behind the lens, Ken has produced compelling images with passion, originality and technical expertise. He has a good eye, sure, but it works in tandem with his well-honed skills to capture the right feeling and visually communicate the right message to engage with and motivate consumers. With a keen attention to detail and the ability to tell a story through his creative process, Ken consistently produces exceptional results, rising above and beyond his clients’ expectations.
A British ex-pat, Ken travelled across the pond in the late 70s and opened his first studio soon thereafter. He studied at the London College of Printing before immigrating and opened his first studio soon thereafter. His second studio endeavour spanned 16 years, where he managed 12 staff, shot room sets, fashion, and product for brochures and promotional material for various clients, including Woodward’s. Since 2004, Ken has owned and operated Ken Mayer Studios.
Balancing inspired conception with precise craft, Ken specializes in shooting food & beverage photography for restaurants and commercial food vendors, and is also a regular contributor for TASTE magazine, the official publication of BC Liquor Stores. Other focuses include fine art, architecture, museum & gallery, people, lifestyle, and product photography.
